Story

On the market since 1894, and with care through the decades. From the vegetable seedlings in the Market Hall in Basel to the first vehicle and the first garden designs of the 50s. Today we are a modern garden and landscaping company.

1894

Founded by Friedrich Salathé-Wohringer. With his wife Adele, he cultivated vegetables and flowers and drove to town on horse and wagon to sell the goods.

1929

Takeover by Ernst Salathé-Schneider. Trained at the Oeschberg Horticultural School, he worked on the construction of gardens – with the help of his three children Kurt, Lisa, and Ruedi.

1971

Takeover and expansion of the business by Kurt Salathé-Brühweiler, graduate master gardener and landscape architect

1994

Foundation of the joint-stock company Kurt Salathé Gartenbau AG

1999

Christophe Rentzel and Iris Salathé-Rentzel, both landscape gardeners and architects, lead the company into the future.

2015

New construction of the company headquarters
