Garden in Arlesheim

Project

The approximately 1.900 m2 (20.500 sf) garden, created in the early 1990s, is located in a single-family house district in the vicinity of Basel.

The garden is divided into different areas, which are connected by a circular trail. A spacious lawn extends the terrace and ends with a colorful seasonal flower bed. Next to the terrace, a garden pond forms the transition. The edge of the pond is bordered by harmonious aquatic plants. The upper part of the garden, designed in an easy-going way, and speech with a meadow area and some multi-stemmed birch trees. Trees and hedges are cut in such a way, that the view over the planting can lead into the sky.

Planning and execution in stages from 2003 to 2018
